Important Questions for the Grammatically Inclined:

1.  If you end a sentence with a name that ends in “Jr.” do you place a double period there?  

The best Supreme Court Justice was William J. Brennan, Jr..

Looks weird, right?

2.  On a resume, a section titled “Publication” or “Publications”?

  1. ladyofthehouse said: I’m *so* late on this. But: 1) one period. 2) Plural.
  2. receiver said: Dont end the sentence with Jr.. :-).

  4. shovelbum said: I would say no second period and plural Publications.
  5. sallydoodle said: my thoughts: 1) only one period. if it were a question mark, you would use it in addition to the period. 2) Publications if you’re listing more than one.
